From the moment one looks upon this tom, they can start to gleam a few things. First they can notice the way that his eyes looks upon everyone with kindness. They will also notice that when he speaks, he hardly ever says anything bad about anyone, no matter who they are.[break][break]
Brambleflower is a tom that believes truly bleeds kindness. No matter who a feline may be, whether they are friend or foe in nature, this tom will approach them with a smile on his face. If they are a friend, that smile will stay around for a while and they will likely meet his eyes and laughter can ripple through his body if the conversation is allowed to flow in such a direction. If a feline is foe, in an area where they are not supposed to be, that smile will stay there until he is given a reason to let it drop. He will be respectful with them, urging them to give him a good reason they are not where they are meant to be and if the reason is not a valid one, he will urge them to go back the way they had arrived from. Even felines who mistreat him and take advantage of his kindness will not easily see another side to him. If anything, that smile may just drop and he will turn to ignore the feline that may be determined to see him crack. He has a high patience and tolerance level and he would rather wait them out than get on their level.[break][break]
There is a twinkle that glitters in his eyes, a special charm to the way he talks, and a voice that can lure one in. There is a debate on whether or not he means to be as flirtatious as he tends to be. Some think that it is too often for it to simply be Brambleflower's nature, but there are others that realize he has never truly followed up on any of those that give interest back.[break][break]
Brambleflower has a tendency to add in a flirt here and there to just about any she-cat that's around and to answer the question, it is somewhere between the realm of completely natural and completely intentional. As he does tend to be playful with others in his own Clan, the flirtatious side is a natural extension of it. There are times when he does intentionally lay it on thicker, but usually only if the she-cat he's talking to is receptive to it or at least isn't bothered by it. To him, it's just a fun game for the most part. A flirt here and there and when it goes both ways, it is just pure fun. But that's the main thing - it's a fun game. Things usually won't last long and he will be sure to tell anyone getting the wrong idea that he might not be in the place for anything more than just fun flirting. After all, he has had his eyes on a specific she-cat for far too long and the proof that his patience is long and that the end of it has yet to be found can be seen in the way he has stayed beside her, keeping his hopes up that one day she might see the truth.[break][break]
Although you can see that he loves every moment when he's having fun with others, you can see that he knows when the fun must end before things go too crazy. He pulls back, knowing it's easier to either ask for permission and to do it another day than to act first and face the confrontation later. You can see it in the way he avoids angering others - he really really doesn't like facing it.[break][break]
He has never been one to get into trouble that he couldn't get out of. He knows what his limitations are and what the limitations are of those around him, to a point. He will not knowingly break the warrior code or any rule instilled by those higher than him in the hierarchy and he is much more a follower than he is a self-thinker. He has to be really encouraged to speak his mind on manners, pushed a few times more than most felines would like to do, in order for him even to give the teeniest tiniest amount of info on what he's thinking. Mostly this is due to the fact that he just doesn't always think that far ahead and he does not particularly enjoy confrontations that come from speaking his mind. In his mind, he'd rather stay quiet with his opinions than clash with others' when they feel strongly about something.

This story begins with a she-cat by the name of Cottonfur and a tom by the name of Pineheart. The two as apprentices often got on one another's nerves as Pineheart in particular had enjoyed ruffling Cottonfur's fur. But some moons into their warriorships, that annoyance grew into a doting fondness and the two realized they loved one another. That love only grew deeper as Cottonfur announced that she was pregnant with a litter and birthed a healthy litter of two kits, Bramblekit and Thrushkit. Bramblekit was a social kit, playing with the others, but despite the social factor, he acted as a calming feature to quell his brother's more troublesome tendencies. Thrushkit would often talk about sneaking out of camp, but Bramblekit would often remind the tom that it was wrong and they would get in trouble. Of course, he still managed to find ways to get into trouble within the camp, but at least he couldn't get hurt.[break][break]
Well, Bramblekit never realized that perhaps he could get into serious trouble though. Apparently, Thrushkit had snuck into the medicine cat's den one night soon before they were to become apprentices. He stole a couple of herbs and hid them, trying to play a harmless prank on the medicine cat. When the medicine cat started mentioning that their herbs were missing, the Clan started muttering about what it could mean. Bramblekit looked at his brother who was smiling and giggling and the kit sighed. "Where'd you hide them?" he asked his brother. Thrushkit flicked his tail and ended up telling Bramblekit. Bramblekit found the herbs and brought them to the medicine cat's den, apologizing. "Were you the one who took them?" Bramblekit nodded, covering for his brother. They likely could smell Thrushkit on the herbs and den, but the scents of many Clan-mates lay thick on both so it was hard to blame the other kit when Bramblekit was taking the blame.[break][break]
Bramblekit was punished for taking credit for stealing the herbs, his apprentice ceremony being delayed by a moon. Although their father clearly loved their mother and them, he was not an easy-going feline when it came to making trouble. He was rather harsh on his kit and even though Bramblekit had been punished for stealing the herbs, their father punished him further by giving him a "strong" talking to, berating him about how a warrior never steals anything and how he could've killed someone by stealing important herbs. Bramblekit took the words that should've been given to Thrushkit instead, but never once did he regret shielding his brother. Bramblekit watched as Thruskit stood proudly as the rest of the Clan yelled out his new name, Thrushpaw. Some might've asked why Bramblekit had done what he had done, especially after his father's harsh words towards him, and he would shrug and say, "He's my brother. I'd rather him be happy."[break][break]
Just before he turned seven moons the leader decided it was time to get Bramblekit's training started. He was named Bramblepaw and assigned a caring and patient she-cat to be his mentor. The two's personalities lined up extremely well and they felt very comfortable in one another's presence. His training went well and he ended up being a well-rounder with enough skills in hunting, tracking, and fighting to be of use, but never quite standing out in either. But that was fine by him. He enjoyed chatting with his Clan-mates and playing around with them. Thrushpaw still got into trouble and often scapegoated other apprentices instead of taking the blame himself. Bramblepaw was disappointed in his brother, but he was unsure how to even approach Thrushpaw on the issue, but in general, Bramblepaw started to spend less and less time with his brother.[break][break]
When he was nine moons old, his father approached him and asked him firmly why he was ignoring Thrushpaw. Bramblepaw was a bit confused since he wasn't explicitly ignoring the tom, but just not trying to be near him. There was a difference, right? But his father was having none of it. He basically tried to force Bramblepaw into spending time with Thrushpaw, saying that they needed to be a family and that included being around one another. So, Bramblepaw tried. He went hunting with his brother soon after that, but as they caught their first prey, Thrushpaw sat down to eat it. "You shouldn't do that!" Bramblepaw was so startled that his brother would eat before they had hunted for the Clan - something that directly went against the warrior code. His brother just shrugged and mewed, "I do it all the time." Bramblepaw was annoyed so instead of confronting his brother on the issue, he walked away before his brother had finished.[break][break]
That night, a warrior approached the apprentice's den, his eyes grazing everyone. He told Bramblepaw and Thrushpaw to follow him to the leader's den. He announced that he had found the carcass of a mouse out in the territory with their scents on it. He asked for them to come clean and Thrushpaw began to speak up. Bramblepaw thought for a moment that he was going to own up to his mistake, but instead, he blamed Bramblepaw, saying he had been the one to do it. Bramblepaw was astonished, but as he had done before, he took the blame. He took the scapegoat. He was punished again, this time for the crime of eating before he had fed the Clan and for not respecting the prey he had caught by not burying it. His ceremony to become a warrior would be delayed.[break][break]
When news of what had happened reached his father's ears, Pineheart chastised Bramblepaw even harder. This time since they were hidden in the corner of a camp, Pineheart even pawed hard at Bramblepaw's head with his claws sheathed. Bramblepaw took it, not really knowing why he took it, but there was always something about the way that Pineheart was so kind to Cottonfur and Thrushpaw, and to him when Thrushpaw wasn't blaming everything on him. Bramblepaw never felt like he fit into the picture of a happy family he saw the others painting, but he ignored the pain and kept moving on with his own life. He watched as Thrushpaw passed his assessment and became Thrushstrike. With the other tom in the warrior's den and naturally spending less time with Bramblepaw over the next moon, things went pretty smoothly and Bramblepaw passed his own assessment with flying colors.[break][break]
The day Bramblepaw was named Brambleflower was a day that he always looks back on with pride. When he looked between his mentor's face and his family's, he saw prise on the first, pride on his mother's, but there was an odd look on his father's - almost like he wasn't sure about the suffix Brambleflower had received. Thrushstrike just wasn't even paying attention. Over the moons, he worked hard to be a warrior the Clan would be proud of and his flirty sider started to really develop over these moons. However, even though he would be flirty, he never really took up any female interested in trying something more. Instead, it appeared that his eyes had been drawn to a pretty calico warrior a few moons older than him. Of course, he never found the chance to chat with her and a piece of him hoped that she would notice him herself.[break][break]
Thrushstrike continued to be an annoyance, but as a warrior, he found it hard at the beginning to find a scapegoat. Although he got caught once or twice at the start of his early moons as a warrior, he started to learn how to conceal his rule-breaking or pin it on others more firmly. Brambleflower started to distance himself again from both his brother and father this time, but he stayed close to his mother. Pinehearft approached him once or twice about it, but Brambleflower told him that he was done. He realized what Pineharrt was trying to do over the moons as a warrior, how his father wanted to create the perfect family to make others jealous. Brambleflower didn't care about helping his father achieve that goal and told him such. After that, Pineheart was distant from Brambleflower, though he did still stay close to Thrushstrike who was more than willing to play his part.[break][break]
Around thirty-eight moons, he found himself around the calico she-cat by the name of Meadowleap that he had been intrigued by for some moons. He flirted with her, feeling his heart pound in his chest the way it never had before whenever he was with her. They became fast friends, their personalities matching well, and for a little while, the tom had hopes that she could see how he felt. After all the moons of taking the blame for Thrushstrike and avoiding as much confrontation as he could (telling his father off was the one time he had the courage to do it), he found it hard to come out and say anything directly. But moons passed and she never gave him any sign that she understood how he felt and he felt like maybe the time had passed for him to say anything directly. But, he was patient enough, and even with his feelings bubbling under the surface, he would wait to see if time would make things more clear or perhaps he would need to just work up that little bit of courage to tell her the truth.[break][break]
Things went smoothly for much of his life after he distanced himself from the two problematic members of his family. If anyone ever asked him why he avoided them and even when they were on patrol together why he didn't even acknowledge them, he just shrugged it off. He had no reason to go spilling his family's secrets. At fifty-six moons, the Rubblestar passes and their deputy becomes leader and the Clan awaited the announcement from Hawknose as to who would be their deputy. When Meadowleap was chosen, Brambleflower beamed with happiness for his friend while there may have been others that were unsure about her ability to step into the position, Brambleflower never stopped being supportive of the she-cat. But four moons leader as Hawkstar suddenly perished and she moved into the role of leader, he could see the opening of telling her more directly how he felt slipping away as she became busy trying desperately to figure out what she was supposed to do.[break][break]
But Brambleflower would wait as he always had. He would wait till she was settled in, feeling better, and have things more solidified. They still had plenty of time and he was never in a rush. He would be there in whatever capacity she needed him while helping the Clan in any other way he could.
