The big tom has a guarded look to his eyes and when he speaks, his voice can be rough and even a little scathing. To those who know naught of him, they can get a little prickled by his attitude. But to those who know anything of him, they have learned how deep his caring nature runs and that he has a sense of loyalty few can match.[break][break]
At first glance, at first interaction, Wolfheart does not always come off in the best possible way. He can be overly proud and especially to those outside of ThunderClan, easily looks down on them (often time both figuratively and literally). He can come off a little self-righteous and arrogant, always having to say one thing or another that can just feel like he believes his way will always be the best way. But when one takes the time to get to know him, to see past that outer shell, they'll see that there is much left in the deepest seas to explore. His heart glows with pride when it concerns his loved ones and friends and especially his Clan-mates as a whole. He would lay his life down, put it all on the line, to ensure that others are safe to go home to their families. If he could ensure that ThunderClan as a whole would survive to see another day simply by giving up his life, he would do just that. There is nothing, nothing, he wouldn't give for his Clan. That dedication, that undying loyalty, is a piece of him that most felines can come to respect and even admire.[break][break]
And he does it without expecting anything in return. Truth is, he doesn't even really care what others think of him. He does these things simply to stay true to himself.[break][break]
The words may be rough, but there is something about the way he speaks that may not be obviously apparent. He will never tell a straight lie, no matter with whom he is speaking. He may leave out bits of the truth, but he will never tell a straightforward lie and he will look down on those that do.[break][break]
Lying is a fickle mistress and it's one that he has never, ever felt the need to get into bed with. Lies are often way too easy to pinpoint and in the end, what do they do? Lying simply causes others to fail to put their trust in you and if you are trying to get someone to put their trust in you for the first time, any lie, even a white one, will break that effort. He sees no reason to go through such turmoil. Will he always tell the truth one hundred percent as it is? No, not always. He may leave out a thing or two in order for you to discover it on your own or simply because the truth he does tell is enough in his eyes to get the point across, for the time being. If he is asked a straightforward question, he won't shirk away. One could even say that he sees the need to lie as a confession of being unworthy of his respect. You could kill a feline and as long as you told the truth about it he would respect you more than anyone who tells a lie.[break][break]
Friends is a label you don't find him using often, despite that sometimes it is painfully obvious that he does care for another in that kind of way. He likes to put up a front, likes to pretend that he has fewer feelings than he really does...but maybe he's not actually that hard of a guy to read. Especially since there are just some felines he can't actually say no to.[break][break]
Throughout his life, he has found it hard to believe that others would even want to be his friend. Despite the fact that he has a bark, he lacks a bite and some felines are quick to figure this out about it. They realize he talks a big game, but he would never actually hurt anyone without a firm reason to do such. If you do hurt a friend or clan-mate though, he will walk to the ends of the planet to make sure that you are paid in full for the suffering those close to him have received. But other than that, when his friends and close ones are interacting with him, they know that although he would put up a fight and insist on not doing something that doesn't fit his goals, he will actually not say no - especially when it concerns a couple of felines in particular. When the two felines closest to him ask a favor of him, he will do it, usually no matter what it is because he trusts them never to ask him to do something that would be inherently wrong. When you earn his full trust, there is very little this tom wouldn't do for you.

[break][break]
This story begins the way many do, with two felines who decided that they could put up with each other enough to start a family. And by that, it is meant that the two felines did in fact love one another deeply. And when their first litter was born, they loved their little bundles even more and would do anything to ensure that they were safe. The firstborn and the largest of the three kits would be given the name of Wolfkit while the other two, a she-cat and a tom would be named Lightkit and Nightkit. The family was a happy one and both parents were taking a role in their kit's upbringing. Their father would come by at least once a day to share a meal with their mother and the kits when they were weaned off of milk. The parents instilled values into their kids, teaching them to believe in their hearts and what they believed to be right.[break][break]
Each of the kits would turn to take that listen to heart in different ways. Where it turned out that Wolfkit was a bit more gruff and hard to approach, Lightkit was the social butterfly of the three, eagerly chatting with others and looking to see what they were up to. It was clear from a very young age that Lightkit was inquisitive and sought to understand the world and how things worked and how felines thought. She would often share her findings with her siblings. Wolfkit often got annoyed with her up-beat attitude and friendliness, especially since she had a way of annoying him like it was her job, but Wolfkit would always love her and their brother. Nightkit on the other hand was oddly right in the middle of his two siblings. He was more neutral, often trying to neutralize conflicts not only between the siblings (if there were any) but also between others. He liked to think of himself as a neutral party, never quite wanting to take one feline's side over another.[break][break]
Of course, they were just kits. These differences in personality began here, but they would not get fully fleshed out until they became older and started to figure out what life had to teach them. By the time their sixth moon approached, their mother and father deemed that they had taught the young kits all they could by keeping them in the nursery and that it was time to have them move on with their lives. It was time for the three kits to become apprentices and for their parents to entrust their learning to others.
[break][break]
Wolfpaw was ready to step into a new role after they received their new names but likely was not excited as Lightpaw was who was giddy on her feet to start exploring and seeing more. Wolfpaw received an average warrior as his mentor, but he was a warrior who leaned more on the fight side of the warrior life. His skills leaned in that direction and it showed in Wolfpaw's own training. Wolfpaw preferred it that way anyway. Although he did enjoy hunting, fighting always felt a tad more natural to the large tom. He enjoyed his mentor's company well enough as the tom was able to handle Wolfpaw's gruffness and sassy responses while encouraging him to keep working towards his goals and not annoying the tom very much. While the two never became exceptionally close, his mentor had seen the good in Wolfpaw and the two at least would continue to be companions even after Wolfpaw earned his warrior name.[break][break]
During these moons, there were two other felines that he started to become acquaintances with. Kestrelpaw was an apprentice a moon younger than him and Littlepaw was a tom three moons his senior. Littlepaw and Wolfpaw became friends more on Littlepaw's account than Wolfpaw's. Littlepaw was a friendly tom, always making friends with just about anyone that he chatted to. There was just something about him, an air of gentleness matched with the fact that you know that he would still try to help others in anyway that he could. He was intrigued in Wolfpaw, for some reason. The two were naturally drawn together and with time, they're friendship just felt...natural. Littlepaw was one of the first felines to peer past the surface of Wolfpaw's attitude and see the kindness that lurked underneath - almost like the tom could just see right through him. Littlepaw had that with everyone though, able to communicate with just about anyone with ease. It was really because of Littlepaw that Wolfpaw didn't just stay isolated off in the corner somewhere. If Wolfpaw ever tried to distanced himself, Littlepaw would find a way to pull him in. Littlepaw was really the only feline Wolfpaw sought to hang out with and even his own siblings were surprised by how easy it was for Wolfpaw to just...be with the other feline.[break][break]
So what of Kestrelpaw? Well, she was a she-cat that became friends with Littlepaw first. She was four moons younger than Wolfpaw and because of that he didn't really meet her until he was nearing the end of his apprenticeship. In fact, the first time they met was when Lightpaw suggested they all go hunting together with Littlewhisker, a warrior now, looking after them. Kestrelpaw and Littlepaw were very similar to one another, always chatting about this or that new thing they had found out about. Wolfpaw stayed near Littlwwhisker, annoyed, but they could all see that he was enjoying himself at least a little. After that first hunt, Kestrelpaw started to hang out with Wolfpaw and Littlewhisker more and more and just like Lightpaw, Kestrelpaw had a way of naturally annoying Wolfpaw. However, he'd never admit it, but he enjoyed it. He enjoyed both her and Littlewhisker's companies...he just might not freely admit to it.
[break][break]
As the moons went on, things didn't really change much. As he neared twelves moons of age, he, Lightpaw, and Nightpaw were given their assessment together and it was deemed that all three of them were well off and ready to be made into full fledged warriors. Nightpaw became Nightstalker for his hunting skills, Lightpaw because Lightpelt, and Wolfpaw became Wolfheart. They sat during their vigil together, silent and thinking about what their journey this far had been like and what their futures would have in store. Wolfheart could tell that it irked Lightpelt to have to sit still for so long. The day after their vigil, Wolfheart mentioned to Littlewhisker and Kestrelpaw that the name the leader had chosen for him seemed, odd. "Shouldn't I be something more aligned with fighting? That's what I am good at. I don't even have a heart." Littlewhisker and Kestrelpaw both laughed and Littlewhisker replied that many felines in the Clan could see just how big his heart really was - that it was impossible to hide it no matter how much Wolfheart might want to.[break][break]
When he and his siblings were fourteen moons of age, their mother had another litter. There was only one kit in this litter, a tom that they named Galekit. Wolfheart took interest in his younger brother, often watching him. Galekit would become first Galepaw and eventually Galestorm. He had two sides to him, almost as if he was two different felines depending on the situation. On one hand he was extremely quiet, learning what he can and respecting nature and believing in nature's power. He was curious in herbs, though it was never his destiny to be a medicine cat. On the other hand, he could be short tempered when caught off guard and did not handle criticism or questioning very well. But he was a good warrior for the Clan and helped any way that he could. He was often closer to Nightstalker than any of his other siblings.[break][break]
Moons drifted by and the same old same old happened. The three enjoyed spending much of their time together whenever patrols didn't force them to separate. Kestrelpaw would eventually grow up and become Kestrelwing, given the -wing suffix for her adventurous nature. Gatherings were always the things that Kestrelwing looked forward to the most. She loved to chat with felines from the other Clans and get to know not only them personally, but also just to get an insight in how the other Clans functioned. The nights she was not chosen, she grumbled the whole night as she anticipated the news retrieved back from the other Clans. The trio became incredible close with the moons that passed. At twenty-four moons old, there was a battle along the border with WindClan and Wolfheart's mother was one of the casualties. Kestrelwing was also part of the fight, but managed to come back safely with just a few wounds that were quickly patched up. Wolfheart felt the pain of his mother's passing and he was rather quiet, more so than might be classified as normal, for a few days.[break][break]
Kestrelwing and Littlewhisker noticed one night about four days after the battle that Wolfheart was missing. They followed his scent together, Littlwwhisker leading the way as tracking was one thing he had always excelled most in, and they found the tom on his way towards the WindClan border. The plan had been for Wolfheart to find a WindClanner, anyone there really, to take out his mother's death on. Thankfully his friends caught him before he made it there, before he found anyone. They pleaded with him that his mother wouldn't have wanted it and asked him if it was truly what his heart thought was the right thing to do. "Hurting anyone else won't bring her back," they reminded him. Knowing they were right, knowing that this was the way their way of life worked, he let them bring him back home with just a few gruff words.[break][break]
Soon after that, the three did discover something about the nature of their relationship. They realized that their friendship was based more on a deep love for one another than simply a love based only on friendship. Of course, Littlewhisker was the first to really point it out as he continued to see through others and through himself as if everyone was clear instead of made of flesh and fur. Kestrelwing admitted the same, that she loved both toms with all her heart. It took a little longer for Wolfheart to come top terms about his own feelings, but he realized that if anything ever happened to either of them, it would hurt even more than his mother's death. With the realization, the three all became mates, dedicated to each other equally.
[break][break]
After becoming mates, the three of them were even harder to separate, though their attitudes hardly ever changed. Littlewhisker still urged them to chat with others, especially Wolfheart, and Kestrelwing was still as lively as always, seeking new experiences. Over the moons, Kestrelwing announced twice that she was expecting their kits, once when Wolfheart was thirty-two moons and again he was forty-five moons. Wolfheart was a bit nervous to be a father the first time around, which Littlewhisker noticed right away and stopped Wolfheart from distancing himself. When the first litter was born, Wolfheart immediately doted on them and became as protective of them as he was Kestrelwing and Littlewhisker - it was no different for the second litter either, the tom loving them as much as he loved the first group. The three of them were equal parents and it never bothered Littlewhisker or Wolfheart not to know exactly which kits were whose in the litters - it didn't matter. They were all the kit's fathers and neither would treat any of the kits differently.[break][break]
After the second litter, Kestrelwing was determined to leave it there for the time being, glad to watch as their kits grew older. Unbeknownst to Wolfheart, though it was likely Littlewhisker picked up on it, Kestrelwing was starting to get another idea in her head and as the moons passed, as she watched her kits grow older, she became more set on her thoughts. When Wolfheart was sixty-five, Kestrelwing took both him and Littlewhisker aside and made her announcement. "I'm going to be leaving the Clan." The two toms were stunned by the nature of her announcement. Littlewhisker had had his suspicions, but even he hadn't quite seen it coming. Wolfheart tried to argue her out of it, saying that it would be wrong to leave the Clan (implying too about her leaving them and their kits behind), but Kestrelwing shook her head. She mentioned how she was getting older and how she had always wanted to travel, see more and do more...and help more felines. She loved ThunderClan and would never do anything to harm them. Wolfheart continued to try and stop her from doing it, but she kept saying it was something she had to do. She brought her kits aside in the next few days to say her good-byes to them as well and when they were all done, she left.[break][break]
Littlewhisker would meet up with Kestrelwing when it was clear to in a neutral area, but Wolfheart stayed away for a while, hurt and feeling abandoned by her. His kits and Littlewhisker did what they could to get him out of it, but he was more gruff and sassy than normal. Littlewhisker convinced him to come with him one day though and Wolfheart relented and the two toms met up with Kestrelwing. Wolfheart was silent for much of the meeting, unsure what to say or do. He still viewed her leaving as a betrayal to their Clans and it was something he took seriously. A part of him hated himself for sneaking out with Littlewhisker to even see her, knowing the Clan would never approve, but his love for her eventually won and he warmed up by the end of their meeting and he went with Littlewhisker on future trips everytime.[break][break]
When they were seventy-two moons, they were struck by a new bit of news - Kestrelwing was pregnant again. The two toms were shocked, but she was happy about it, something about raising a new litter as loners intriguing her. Wolfheart was wanting to being them and her back to ThunderClan where they all belonged, but she refused, once again, as she always did when he brought up her returning. When the kits were born, Wolfheart and Littlewhisker continued to visit her and them, making sure to stay a part of their lives, even if Wolfheart did not completely agree.[break][break]
One thing to note that throughout all these moons, he did mentor a few apprentices, taking their training seriously. He was not, by any means, an easy warrior to get as a mentor as their training always came first. If any apprentice of his broke the Warrior Code or any rules/orders, he did not take it kindly and would not hesitate to bring it to the leader or deputy if needed, or punish them himself if the crime was low in priority. He also garnered the respect of his Clan-mates, much to Littlewhisker's help, as a tom they could go to for help or for thoughts. Asa he became more senior, he was often left to lead many patrols and even asked for his opinion every now and again by the deputy and leader if they needed second thoughts from any of their more senior warriors. He was proven in battle, helping protect his Clan and Clan-mates as much as he could.[break][break]
During the moons Kestrelwing was gone from the Clan, would ask Wolfheart for his help here and there if she ran into an issue she couldn't solve on her own. Wolfheart grumbled about it, but he could never say no to her or helping her. She knew better than to ask him to do something that would actively break his morals or the warrior code directly and sometimes she would hide the full truth to spare him from knowing if there was more to it. She would never lie to him, as she knew how hew felt about that and would never wish to break his trust in her. She knew he kept helping because he trusted her and she would never betray him.[break][break]
The last five moons have not been easy for ThunderClan. First Rubblestar died from old age, a lost that many of them had seen coming for some time. Wolfheart's own father had passed away naturally in his sleep moons before so the leader's death had brought a little of that feeling back to the dark-pelted tom. Then very soon, too soon after, Hawkstar was killed suddenly by a falling tree, losing all of their lives at once and leaving Meadowleap to talk their place. There were mutterings going around about who would be the next deputy and many had their eyes on Littlewhisker or other warriors. But when Meadowleap announced her deputy, many were caught off guard when she named Wolfheart as her chosen feline. Wolfheart wanted to deny it, but knew better than to doubt his new leader and so he took it in, steeling himself for the fact that he would be here to help guide her as best as he could. Littlewhisker made sure to encourage him too, telling him he was the tight tom for the job.

He enjoyed both her and Littlewhisker's companies...he just might not freely admit to it.

to sunset, blood-red skies tranquil after the storm
moons: twelve to thirty
With the realization, the three all became mates, dedicated to each other equally.

blessed shadows
moons: thirty to current
